QEI Corporation has been a leader and innovator in the RF manufacturing industry since 1971.QEI has designed and manufactured products for a wide variety of industries including Broadcast, Scientific, Medical, and Energy/Environmental.
QEI has set many milestones in broadcast manufacturing. QEI was the first manufacturer to offer an all solid state, 20 watt, phase locked loop, frequency synthesized, FM Exciter for the commercial broadcast industry.
QEI Corporation developed what has become the industry standard in monitoring/test equipment. The Model 691 FM Modulation Monitor/Test Set, the first specialized test unit for the FM broadcaster incorporates required Modulation Monitoring functions with a wide range of other test functions into a single unit. The QEI 691 provides a highly flexible, accurate test system at a reasonable price. Accordingly, over 1300 units are in service in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
In 1990, QEI developed CAT-LINK, the first and to this date the only T1 based digital STL to transport a composite FM signal. This unique design offers the broadcaster a un-compressed, high performance, license free STL, enabling the stations audio processor and stereo generator to remain at the studio.
QEI pioneered solid-state FM transmitter designs and continues to direct the industry in both low and high power FM systems. The QEI QUANTUM Series Solid-State FM transmitter has set the new standard for others to pursue. While many manufacturers have their RF amplifier components made over seas, QEI remains one of only a few manufacturers who still produce RF amplifiers domestically.
In the Scientific arena, QEI has set the standard for safe, reliable, and cost effective RF amplifier solutions. We are proud of the fact that our products are essential to powering some of the most complex and sophisticated experiments in the world. These include the National Synchrotron Light Source at Brookhaven National Laboratory, the Relativistiv Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory, and the Spallation Neutron Source at Oak Ridge National Labortory.
In the Medical industry, QEI RF amplifiers are fast becoming the standard for powering medical radio-pharmaceutical cyclotrons throughout the world.
